Ziplining in Chiang Mai

We decided to go ziplining with a company called Eagle Track.  The van came and picked us up just after 7:00am and drove us to the location about an hour away.  We picked a package that had 35 platforms.  We got to do 16 ziplines, 4 abseiling (Where they drop you straight down. We did 10, 15, 20, and 40 meters), 13 bridges/nets/climbing ropes, and one flying skateboard (it was a zipline with a second one under your feet that had a rolling skateboard.)  When we got there they got us in our gear (complete with hairnets and helmets) and slathered us in bug repellant.  The joy of lots of rain and moisture is that it's really green and jungly.  The downside is that it brings a lot of bugs, especially mosquitoes.

See that stick in my right hand?  That's the break.  It was a bamboo pole with a hook.  They would yell when to break and we'd put the hook over the line and pull to slow us down.

Tanner was so at ease and in his element.  I learned that he spent time over the summers running ziplines with his dad.  I was a bit nervous at times, but had a really fun time!

On two of the lines we got to go together!

I've been here 6 months and it's still hard for me to believe how green it is here!  As an arizona girl I'm used to the dry, brown desert.

On the last drop they let Tanner go down face and belly down.  They hooked into his harness from the back and he dropped down like Superman!

We made it to the end!  After we finished all of that we walked back to the main area and got our free t-shirts, certificated, and a buffet lunch.  The drive back took about an hour.  The rest of the day was spent napping, buying our bus tickets home, eating at the Italian restaurant we found the day before (it was that good), and experiencing the night markets for shopping.
