School Progress

The new school is coming right along.  We stopped by about a month ago with Ton.  It's looking good.  They don't pour the foundations with precision, so the tile layers were adding cement as they were putting down tile.  I took a video that I'll try to attach.  They do things here so differently than they do in the US.

When I took this next picture Tanner said, “what are you taking a picture of?” My answer: Thailand. This just sums up a lot about Thailand. Someone's shop with their house above. A scooter (that's how most people get around). A clean, but not very nice building. A sliding door that opens wide. People cooking out in the open. Open to the outdoors. No air conditioning. Cracking sidewalks.

They also did some construction here at our school.  They turned the old taekwando room into two bedrooms.  This involved putting up a metal frame, attaching drywall (no insulation) and turning one window into a door.

  1. I didn't see a video, so that must not have worked, but that's ok, your descriptions are super. I loved your picture of "Thailand." I just stared at it for a while. There are so many cool details! I did the same thing when I was in Chile...tried to take some pictures that captured that part of Chile...what Chile was to me.
